Employment Opportunities

The Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, Miss., invites applications for two new tenure-track positions at the assistant or associate professor level. 

Candidates must hold a PhD, PharmD and/or MD degree and will be expected to maintain an extramurally funded research program and participate in our graduate, medical and/or dental teaching programs. Preference will be given to applicants with extramural funding and research interests using molecular and cellular approaches to identify new genes, targets, and treatments for dementia, hypertension, diabetes, various causes of cancer and cancer drug development, Women's Health Research, neurodegenerative diseases, stroke or pregnancy related disorders.  

The salaries for both positions are fully funded and will come with a competitive start-up package. The department has core facilities for mass spec, histology, confocal and ultrasound imaging and access to an institutional cutting-edge genomics facility.
